Privacy Policy & Student Data Protection
Zero-PII Local Storage Architecture • FERPA & COPPA Verified
Future Engineer Academy is engineered from the silicon up as a local-first educational environment. We do not collect student names, emails, behavioral telemetry, location data, or social identifiers. No student data is sold, rented, monetized, or fed into public artificial intelligence models.
01.Local-First Architecture & Storage Custody
All student source code, challenge attempts, Bug Lab diagnostics, journal entries, and concept mastery vectors are stored exclusively in sandboxed application containers on the user's macOS device:
~/Library/Containers/com.futureengineer.academy/Data/Library/Application Support/
├── CodeVault/ (AES-256-GCM sealed student scripts)
├── MasteryVectors/ (Local concept mastery weights)
└── Backups/ (Encrypted export archives)
No remote database connection or cloud sync daemon is required. When running in offline mode, 100% of curriculum content, tests, and static linting operate with zero network activity.
02.FERPA Compliance (34 CFR Part 99)
For elementary, middle, and high school institutional deployments, Future Engineer Academy satisfies all requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act:
Educational records remain under the direct administrative custody of the Local Educational Agency (LEA). Future Engineer Academy asserts no property claim over student creations.
Student submissions and performance statistics are never redisclosed, shared with data brokers, or leveraged for commercial advertising or external profiling.
03.COPPA Safe Harbor & Parental Consent (16 CFR Part 312)
Future Engineer Academy is designed for learners under age 13. We enforce COPPA requirements through dual consent channels:
- Family Edition: Parental PIN protection guards all settings, profile resets, export operations, and licensing management. Parents maintain sovereign oversight over all child accounts.
- School Edition: Institutional authorization is granted by school administrators acting in loco parentis solely for educational instruction under FTC COPPA guidelines.
04.Cryptographic Student Data Shredder
Parents and educators may invoke the Data Shredder at any time directly within the application. The shredder executes an unrecoverable unlink of student local folders, zeroes out memory caches, and outputs a cryptographic audit log verifying certified data purge.
05.Auditing & Contact Information
School districts and privacy officers requesting custom Data Privacy Agreements (NDPA / SDPC Exhibit A) or certified compliance audits may contact the Academy Compliance Office:
