These Terms of Use govern Vela Link, designed by Pauram. By downloading or using the app or website, you agree to these product terms and Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), which is incorporated by reference. These terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA; they do not reduce mandatory rights it or applicable law gives you. If you do not agree, do not use Vela Link.
Vela Link is not directed to children under 13. You must be legally able to accept these terms where you live. If you are under the age of legal majority, a parent or legal guardian must review these terms and supervise your use where required by law. If you use Vela Link for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization; otherwise you accept these terms only for yourself.
Subject to these terms and the Apple Standard EULA, Pauram grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Vela Link on Apple-branded devices you own or control, including uses permitted through Family Sharing or volume purchasing. The app is licensed, not sold. Pauram and its licensors reserve every right not expressly granted. Restrictions do not apply where applicable law prohibits them or an open-source license expressly permits the activity.
Vela Link is nearby translated communication: Live Listen on one phone, plus chats, calls, walkie, camera, and Glyph circles for phones in the same room. Live Listen can help understand a nearby speaker who does not have the app; other peer features use Bluetooth and local Wi‑Fi. It is not the internet telephone network. Vela Link does not place cellular radio calls. It does not send SMS as a login. It does not provide a Pauram-operated message cloud.
Captions, language detection, camera text, and spoken translation are automated estimates of meaning—not certified interpretations or authoritative records. The original words or source image on this phone are the reference. Speech recognition, optical character recognition, phrasebook content, and Apple Translation can omit, invert, delay, or mistranslate content. Confirm names, numbers, negations, dates, measurements, identity, consent, medication instructions, financial instructions, and medical or legal content with a qualified human when consequences matter. Do not rely on Vela Link as the sole means to make an emergency call, obtain informed consent, diagnose or treat a condition, administer medication, complete a legal proceeding, verify identity, authorize payment, or make another high-risk decision. Full open-ended translation may require Apple language packs; known phrasebook lines may remain available without them. Pauram Intelligence is on-device guidance. It is not a medical or legal advisor. Emergency SOS translator is a local phrase helper. It does not contact emergency services for you.
You are responsible for determining and following the consent, notice, recording, interception, biometric, accessibility, employment, education, health, and privacy laws that apply where every participant is located. Clearly tell people when Live Listen, transcription, recording, camera translation, voice notes, or spoken playback is active, and obtain all legally required permission before starting or sharing the result. A visible indicator in Vela Link does not replace your legal duty to obtain consent. Do not use Vela Link for covert surveillance, stalking, harassment, discrimination, exploitation, impersonation, rights violations, or interception of communications you are not authorized to receive. Stop immediately if a participant withdraws consent.
Use Vela Link only as the law allows. Do not use it to harm a person, facilitate a crime, distribute malware, defeat security controls, overload nearby radios, probe another device without authorization, scan QR invites from people you cannot verify, or infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights. Do not misrepresent Vela Link as a cellular radio, global messenger, certified interpreter, emergency-dispatch service, guaranteed security product, or cloud translator. You are responsible for your conduct, content, devices, recipients, and compliance with law.
You keep the rights to content you type, say, photograph, or create. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to capture, translate, transmit, play, store, and share it. You give nearby recipients permission to receive and process content only as needed for the features you deliberately use; Pauram does not acquire ownership of that content. Recipients may retain their own copies. Because there is no Vela message cloud, Pauram cannot recover a vault you erased or remotely delete another person’s copy.
Nearby sealing uses ChaCha20-Poly1305. Glyphs are not that seal. Compare safety numbers after handshake. If a number changes, stop trusting the session until you verify again. No product can promise perfect security. Other people in the room can still overhear, photograph a screen, or run their own radios.
Some features depend on Apple hardware, operating-system permissions, Speech, Translation language packs, iCloud, Siri, App Intents, Push to Talk, Bluetooth, Local Network, Nearby Interaction, or App Store services. Those services are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies and may be unavailable, changed, interrupted, region-limited, or removed. You use external services at your own risk as stated in the Apple Standard EULA. Pauram does not control Apple services, carrier service, local Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth conditions, or another user’s device.
Vela Link, Pauram Intelligence, Pauram branding, software, trained artifacts, domain packs, visual design, documentation, and non-user content may contain proprietary technology and are protected by intellectual-property and other applicable laws. Except for the limited license above, these terms transfer no ownership or implied license to you. Public standards, Apple technology, third-party materials, open-source components, and user content remain governed by their respective owners and terms; Pauram does not claim them as proprietary. If you voluntarily send product feedback, you permit Pauram to use it without restriction or payment, but Pauram will not treat your private conversations or diagnostic content as product feedback.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VELA LINK AND ITS FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS. PAURAM DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Apple Translation availability, Bluetooth, local Wi‑Fi, device compatibility, and translation accuracy are Apple, device, language, and environment limits—not Pauram guarantees. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAURAM IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; LOSS OF DATA, COMMUNICATIONS, PROFITS, OPPORTUNITY, GOODWILL, OR DEVICE USE; OR HARM ARISING FROM TRANSLATION ERROR, MISUNDERSTANDING, A RECIPIENT’S CONDUCT, RADIO INTERRUPTION, PERMISSION DENIAL, OR USER-INITIATED DELETION. These exclusions do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer protections. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular exclusions, so they apply only to the extent permitted where you live.
Pauram may update, modify, discontinue, or restrict a feature to maintain security, comply with law, respond to Apple platform changes, or improve the product. Where practical, material changes will be described through the app, website, or App Store update notes. Your license ends automatically if you materially violate these terms or the Apple Standard EULA. On termination, stop using and delete the app. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for prior conduct—remain in effect.
You obtain Vela Link from Apple. Apple’s App Store terms, refund rules, export rules, and Standard EULA apply. Pauram, not Apple, is responsible for the app’s content, maintenance and support, product claims, and these product-specific terms, except where the Apple Standard EULA says otherwise. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce the provisions that benefit them. Nothing here requires Apple to provide maintenance or support. For legal notices or questions, email support@velalink.app. Consumer-protection law in your place of residence may give you rights that these terms cannot change.
